Help Africa

With your generous support, we work alongside communities in Africa to improve access to clean water and sanitation, improve food security, increase awareness of HIV/AIDS, and reduce the impact of droughts and floods.

Our work in Africa

Across the many countries where we work in Africa, we encounter unique strengths as well as special challenges. Climate emergency, conflict and communicable disease outbreaks across Africa continue to bring hardship to vulnerable communities. In some parts of the continent, communities are facing a ‘triple whammy’: food insecurity, displacement due to conflict and disease outbreaks.

Together with our African partners we recognise that food and water are not only fundamental to life, but they are essential for people to live in dignity and in good health. This is the role of essential agricultural programs in countries such as Malawi, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Your support enables programs like these, as well as education programs which equip children as well as adults with better employment prospects and sustainable livelihoods.

Partnership

We have been working in Africa since 1964, and currently partner 19 in-country organisations.

Programs

We support nine programs across the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Malawi, Tanzania, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

Priorities

Health, Shelter, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH,)  Food security, Protection, Education and Emergency Response Relief.
